Numbered Triangle/pyramid soft toy - Tutorial

I made this numbered soft toy for my little girl.  I already made a cube with numbers 1-6 , so I made this with numbers 7-10.

Here is what you need

Cotton plain cloth
Poly fill
Embroidery thread (any colors)
Scissors
Needle

It is pretty simple to make.  Let me explain first with a diagram.

First in a paper draw a triangle with equal  sides (All sides of a Equilateral triangle are equal).

Now name this triangle as ABC.  Take mid point of AC, BC and AB and name it as F,E,D respectively.  Now join EF, ED and DF (dotted lines).  This forms a smaller triangle(red), totaling 4 triangles in all.  Assume that DEF as base.  Embroidery the numbers.  Fold at D stitch AB, the same way fold at E stitch BC and fold at F and stitch AC leaving a little opening in AC to turn it out.  Fill it with poly fill and ladder stitch it to close.  That’s it. Ready to learn and play.

((Even though the explanation seems to be little hard this is really super simple))

Want to know how I did this

After cutting the triangle, I hand stitched the numbers (used chain stitch and running stitch).

Can you see the patch work on top of number 7?  Here it goes.  My little girl was so excited that I was making a toy for her, so she couldn’t resist helping me. Know what she did.  In her words “Mama just  a cut”.  To cover up I had to patch it up.  Kid’s way of helping. Hahaha….

The  reverse side. Marked lines and  the triangles with pencil and  given ¼ “ seam allowance for the triangle.

Folded one of the triangle (the picture is to show that it makes a triangle once folded)

When all the sides are folded we will get a perfect triangle.

Joined the two sides.  As you can see leave 1/4” from top and start to sew.

Joined the last two sides leaving little opening for turning.

Turn it out and fill it.

Use ladder stitch to finish the opening.

Done.  ENJOY.....
